2018 BMW I3 S - Is this a good offer?

Fully loaded 2018 i3 BEv S (Seattle, WA)

0 out of pocket
455 out of pocket per month
12k
24 month

They are not being very upfront on the details such as MF and residual so I am trying to figure that out manually. I have time left on my current lease so I am not in a hurry.

Thanks a bunch!

I have seen much better, but it depends on where you are in the country and what incentives are going on. I think the killer deals on the 2017s are gone.

In Seattle, we don’t get very many good deals.

We need a bit more information:
(1) MSRP

(2) Selling price before incentives

(3) Incentives being applied

(4) Money Factor

(5) Residual

Generally speaking on new cars, you’re better off going to Portland and bringing back to Seattle. Washington does not tax anything on Full EV leases (e.g. I3, Soul EV etc)., so my gut says this is really high.

From what I know, only the first $32k is not taxed.

From dealer:

2k off MSRP
MSRP is 56595
Sell is 54595
12500 cash down total rebates (nothing out of pocket)
.00156 mf buy rate
24 month
12k 63% of MSRP so my math was a little off.

This is a minimal dealer discount on an i3. On a new 2018, I’d be shooting for 8-9%. Consider shopping dealers down in Portland, too.

Okay, I will check that out. I am in no rush.

I actually reached out to Portland about the same model today :sunglasses:
We didn’t get down to the actual numbers but I was told that the '18s don’t lease well at all.The '17s were doing really good but they all were sold last month.

So, I just looked and it appears the i3 is in fact tax exempt in Washington. Targeting a 9% discount, bumping the MF to .00206 to waive the acquisition fee, for 24 months 12k miles a year (63% residual) and $12,500 in incentives, I come up with the following:

Note: I assumed $600 for registration (because Seattle) and a $115 doc fee.

I don’t know what the 2017s were but based on this from Edmunds it looks like the residuals are still strong. Maybe less incentives?

Any changes in incentives/residuals/MF for February for 24/10?

.00152 and 64%
$7500 lease cash

The dealership says they cannot reduce the MSRP or wave any more fees.

Understood. BMW Bellevue is a no-haggle dealership and generally BMW Seattle will not be aggressive on pricing. Suggest you reach out to Kuni BMW or BMW Portland.

I have reached out to Kuni with no luck either. I will try portland though. Thank you!

What do you mean by tax exempt?
I paid taxes on rebates and monthly payment.
Still was a good deal at $240mo on a 51K car. I put down the MSDs though.

Washington state allows for an exemption of up to $32,500 for EVs. For leases, it is based on the total cost of lease payments.

I remember taking my quote from Portland to BMW of Seattle.I was told that there’s no way it was real
Signed the papers with Portland the very next day and the car was driven up to Seattle for free.

Has to be the msrp not the sale price from what I understand.Or the sale price before the fed incentive.Smth like that,I was looking into it almost 3 years ago.

“Vehicles whose lowest base model has a manufacturer’s suggested retail
price of $42,500 or less, as determined by the Department of Licensing
(DOL)
• Up to $32,000 of the selling price or total lease payments plus the selling price
of the leased vehicle if the original lessee purchases the leased vehicle before
the exemption expires”

I had thought the i3 had a starting MSRP below 42,500, but it looks like I’m wrong - 2018 starts at 44,450. That seems weird because they still list the i3 as eligible, but according to this, it isn’t.

Yeah,I was also confused about i3’s eligibility, even got a hold of a person responsible for this program on a state level,it was a definite “not eligible ” answer.
