2017 Volt HOV GREEN CARPOOL STICKERS ARE BACK! (PHEV)

Great new Volt buyers! Legislature passed SB 838. Plug-in hybrid cars can get the (PHEV) stickers now. Which means if you get a Volt now you can send in to get Green Carpool stickers.

Also AB 1613 passed! $133 million for will get the rebates flowing again! This is a smaller amount than before, but this is still great news.

If anyone has questions give me a call. Paul (408) 464-6499

Source? I can’t find anything about SB 838 being signed into law.

It has not been signed by Jerry Brown yet. Based on the last few bills to be signed, it could be any day now.

Am I reading this correctly? Does this mean green stickers will be unlimited just like the white stickers till 2019?

SB-838 Bill Text

(d) It is the intent of the Legislature that vehicles eligible for the “Green Sticker Program” or specifically, vehicles that meet California’s enhanced advanced technology partial zero-emission vehicle standard or transitional zero-emission vehicle standard, are allowed to continue to receive decals until the program’s expiration date in current state law, which is January 1, 2019.

Few questions

  1. If I take car out of CA, can I still drive it in carpool lanes of other states?
  2. Can the car be purchased by a buyer not living in CA? If not, then will a friend’s CA address will work?
  3. What is the mail in rebate? It is for CA residents only?

Thanks in advance!!

Does anyone know what the rebates will be on full EV vehicles? The rebate website still shows $2500 for EV and $1500 for the volt

Paul, Does your store currently have the stickers with in stock cars?

As of Sept 1st on the CA.giv site it says they have reached the limit and people can get on the list and will be notified if they are going to issue more.

The Spark EV will get the White sticker which has an unlimited quantity until Jan 2019 and the Volt gets the green sticker which has reached the 85000 maximum and they haven’t released any since Dec 2015.

So by the looks of it, no green HOV stickers…Do you know something else that they’re not publicizing yet?

What do you mean “will be” , they are what they are until the money run out or the program changes. It’s more dependent on your income of what the rebate will be for you.

Paul gave me an upfront honest quote, I sent my colleague in and they closed the deal on those terms. Big plus

Not law yet but this says it would remove the cap on Green and White stickers until 2019. Currently Greens are capped out.
