Year: [2017/2018] Make, Model, and Trim: [Mercedes c300] Months/Annual Mileage: [36/12K] Zip Code: [90036]
Trying to find a deal for a really close friend. Also are there any additional incentives? MSDs? What sales price should she expect for a loaded c300 ($50k msrp)? Some dealer tried to rip her off. Offered 36/10k, 2200 due at signing, $520/month for a 2017! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
One more note… She definitely wants nav, but I don’t think she necessarily needs all the other bells and whistles on the 50k car.
I know someone on one of the other threads said 18% discount on a 2017 is reasonable. According to my calculations that would bring the sale price of a $50k MSRP to $41k. With 59% residual and 0.00041 MF that brings the payments with 8.75% tax rate to $403/month with $890 drive offs. Seems pretty good. I’m still unsure if the MF they mention on edmunds includes auto-pay or not?
Yes, that sounds right for the RWD trim. It’s .00007 reduction for each MSD and .001 reduction for autopay. Try finding a loaner as you can be in the 300s.
Thanks all for the responses! In another thread someone was able to get 18% off MSRP on a 2018. Seems like a huge discount, but I’m going to try and contact their sales person and see how it goes!
still waiting on a response from the dealer. I seem to get really slow responses. Told him what I’m looking for and that I’m willing to do MSDs. Other than that, no word at all.
Seems that 18% wasn’t too unreasonable. I got a quote for 18% off MSRP. Dealer said the residual was 60%? I’m pretty sure it’s RWD so that doesn’t match up with the info I got on Edmunds, but hopefully it’s right. My friend’s gonna shop it to another dealership, but I’m pretty sure she’s gonna pull the trigger on this deal. Thanks all for the help! I’ll let you guys know what the final #s are.
20% off “Used” is not the same as 18% off brand new with <100 miles. I think 18% off a brand new 2017 is a great deal and would not expect the same on the incoming 2018 cars. But if you can find it then jump on it!
Used loaners, demos, etc. with 1000-5000 miles lose 20% as soon as they are driven off the lot so I would need a bigger discount. Good luck though as most dealers simply wait for someone who sees the marked down price and takes it.
A “loaded” C300 goes for around $50k so I think the assumption was new. Also not too many “used” 2018s floating around the market yet.
I have gotten off my horse about buying loaners (to each his own) but I don’t think it’s appropriate to compare “new” and “used” as the pricing is vastly different not to mention incentives, residuals, etc.
What are you trying to say? You “think” what his assumption was and he didn’t possibly mean a 2017 loaner as an option because “not too many “used” 2018s floating around the market yet”? Too many assumptions.
I gave a link to a “loaded” 2017 C300 with $50,910 sticker advertised at 20% off.
Besides, “incentives, residuals, etc” are the same on loaners as on new ones, just extra mileage is deducted from RV.
I appreciate the heads up on the loaner! That is a really good discount, significantly better than the offer she got at her local dealer (even on a similar loaner). I think in the end she’s gonna stick with a new one at a lower MSRP but brand new. Appreciate the help as always though!
LOL this is exactly what a dealer will try to do. Convince you to buy a used “loaner” which is not an apples-to-apples comparison with a brand new model. Don’t fall for it. Either shop for a new car and compare price quotes on identical new models or shop "loaners’ with similar mileage. And yes, my assumptions were validated.
