Glad to be a member of the community. Learned a lot here over the months. After a week of negotiations via email, I received this offer today at a MB dealer in the Chicago area.
Mercedes Benz C-300 4-MATIC with Package 2. The car is a retired loaner with 3,200 miles (I was specifically looking for a loaner to get a better deal).
MSRP- $ 49,085
Selling Price - $38,500
Term - 36 months
Miles - 12,000/Yr
Payment - $425 with taxes with auto pay and United Mileage Plus Premier incentive applied. Just first month payment due at signing. There are other cheaper options that would lower the payment $10-$15/mo , but I like the package 2 options (LED lights, Burmester sound system, etc.)
How much are taxes? Is IL a very high tax lease state - as that could be adding a large amount to the monthly? The discount is just 22%. If that includes all incentives, then that could be improved. The miles are low, so the residual correction will be minimal. Offer to pay MSDs and autopay and it will cut your monthly some.
For a frame of reference, I am looking for a $200/month C300 lease. I’m in a low tax state, but 28% off total discount, with MSDs gets me there at 3% tax on most C300s.
22% off for a 3.2k mile loaner is really good. I haven’t even been successful in getting more than 21%(before Fleet incentive) on a C-Class loaner yet and you know I’ve been looking for over a month now. I say thats a pretty good deal. You might only have ~4-500 bucks left on the table if anything. FOR SURE put 10 MSDs! No brainer
I don’t disagree. Its a purple squirrel type of deal. Was close a couple of weeks ago, but wasn’t ready to pull the trigger. Might need to throw in a $1000 silver start certificate to get there. I’m patient (and not in need of another vehicle, so can afford to wait).
I am in NC, but have not found a decent deal on a c300 or e300 here. Have found some decent pricing in VA and MD. MB of Annapolis and Chantilly have had some 20+% off c300s on their website.
