Please provide RV/MF

Hi everyone and thank you for taking the time to create this website to educate and provide understanding. I have several questions as I am going into my third lease. i was unaware of all this. When I leased my vehicles I always felt I was paying to much, so this time around wanted to do some research and found this site. I would like to calculate my own monthly payment and propose a bid to the dealer. I sent the dealer an email asking this information along with other fees that were not listed on price along with rebates etc. I have tier 1 credit, Currently working on trading in my 2013 Veloster for a Rubicon and want lower monthly payments.

  1. If I am trading in my lease Veloster a 48 month term at $454 a month (:scream:), is there any negotiating the trade in value towards the Jeep?

  2. Is here any speacialist going on for Jeep rubicon’s in my area?

  3. Can dealer manipulate RV/MF or is there a set standard they have to follow from ALG?

  4. If it is manipulated how and for what?

  5. What’s your inside on leasing to own?
    Thanks everyone.

@Coachcam

Here you are

36 Months
RV for 10K - 61%
RV for 12K - 60%
MF.000193

48 Months
RV for 10K - 57%
RV for 12K - 56%
MF.000193
MF.000193

@CDJRElliott

Thank you. I appreciate it. I’m sure your busy, anyway you could guide me to get my 5 leasing questions I listed below answered? Should I begin a new thread?

  1. Do you know the buyout and current value of your Veloster? You can negotiate, but take it to CarMax first to see what their offer is. Use that as a worse-case scenario.

  2. Don’t know.

  3. The dealer cannot change the RV, but can markup the MF.

  4. They will try to markup to make more money.

  5. Mainly personal preference, but some vehicles are better to buy than lease.

You really should read this below to know the ins and outs to leasing. Also learn how to calculate the payments by hand.

@CDJRElliott

Is the MF 0.00193 or 0.000193 or 0.0019? Just try to calculate and keep getting different number. And everything I’ve seen is 4 numbers after decimal. Sorry not a mathematician. Tx

@Coachcam sorry for the confusion, but it .00193

@CDJRElliott

Sorry last few question. where did you come up with the MF? Isn’t the MF manipulated by dealer low or high? If I wanted, could I present a lower MF such as .00125(3%) or is the MF already determined by bank?

I appreciate the knowledge you all provide. Thank you.

The MF has a base set by the respective lender.

You cannot offer a lower number as the floor is X.

They can mark it up (depends on who the lender is) a certain amount but rarely does it happen today.

Consumers know the market place.

@CDJRElliott

Ok so I’m a little confused. The dealer provided me 3 banks they use. Ally, Chrysler, and bank united. Each has their own way of using MF and RV. One has a lower MF with higher RV and vice versa. I believe dealer said RV was 63% for 36 months with my APR at 6 and change percent with ally.

The manager was a little shocked I was asking RV and MF. Asked me how I knew and I just told him I’m not gonna get taken advantage of. Another dealer just gave up on me and said they don’t want to change the MSRP, they will sell it at the sticker price. Lol, I said good luck.

The numbers you provided is that Chrysler financial?
Are these numbers changed weekly?

Also the MSRP is 40,880 gave me 2,780 of to make Jeep 38,100. Still don’t understand how they asking for so much a month. Any insight to that? What tricks are they using? @Benedetto

@Coachcam

The three standard Chrysler lenders are Captive (Chrysler Credit), Ally (old GMAC) and US Bank.

They all have different programs and such.

The IDL cash is like 3k IIRC.

What’s the payment? Rebates? Special pricing like supplier or employee?

@Benedetto

Sign and drive at 36 months my incentive of $800 down, little under 500 a month. Think he said $470.00 with taxes.

Provided discount of $2,780 off msrp of $40,880.

FYI I have to look up the other stuff your talking about regarding 3k to llRC. llRC? Dk what that means.

Ok looked it up. He didn’t tell me if it was a rebate against the cap cost. It is possible I can ask when I talk to him again. Maybe I can get it up to the 3k if it is so.

In regards to speacialist pricing I don’t think so. I had to order the Jeep bc they didn’t have any manuel transmission with leather. People in Miami don’t like stick shift.

lol walk from that deal.

$470 on a 40k vehicle?

Where are you located?

Edit; Just read that this a wrangler - not a Grand Cherokee.

Why the rubicon?

@Benedetto

Lol. I live in Miami.

I’ve been taken advantage a few times till I got fed up and started to research.

Rubi for off-roading and snow trails when I go back to Massachusetts.

What would be an ideal monthly average in your opinion on this vehicle?

@Coachcam

Which dealer(s) are you dealing with? If you are shopping Wranglers in South Florida, you can use Tropical Financial Credit Union and if you have a FICO above 780, you’ll get a monthly payment that will beat any other lender in the area. Any of the following list of dealers are signed up with this Credit Union:
Hollywood Chrysler
Joey Accardi
Massey Yardley
Miami Lakes
Schumacher Automotive

The current RVs with that Credit Union for the Wrangler 4dr Rubicon are as follows:
36/15k: 62%
39/15k: 61%
48/15k: 58%

12k is +2pts
10k is +3pts.

The MF is well below all the other lenders and the payments with Tropical are the lowest for 36, 39 and 48mo for all 3 mileage bands.

@RVguy

Hi thanks for that information. I’ve dealt with Aventura Jeep, Kendall, dadeland, and now negotiating with Autonation of Pembroke Pines Jeep.

The other dealers you recommended seem to only sell automatics or just unlimited sport. I’ll keep looking around and ask them. That information you provided is great.

Thank you.

Completely missed you.

Actually working a few miami deals right now if you want to hop aboard.

Also, unless you need a disconnecting sway bar or rear locker - sport probably makes more sense.

And sports lease better. Just make sure you get the 3.73 rear end…

@Benedetto

Going to see what happens Friday. Jeep arrives Monday. If deal goes south I’ll def contact you.

@CDJRElliott rubi comes with 4.10 ratio. But will definitely keep sport in mind. Can always upgrade with after market parts. Thanks.

@Benedetto

Ok so left dealer with no Rubi. They wanted 470 a month at 6% apr. Offered me the RV at 64% @ 48 months 12k, oh and that was with ally financial. I asked them to use US Bank but kept avoiding it. I just eventually walked out after one of managers gave me a guilt trip about being a speacial order.

I have Bramen around corner, may go look at Elantra sport, or Kia, maybe BMW. Thoughts?

Greetings,

I wanted to know what you thought about this deal. I have not had my credit ran through them. A received a trucar offer through usaa. A couple of things I noticed were:

Tag and tax cost were not included
Apr is 6.75 as opposed to 6
Requesting a down payment
High monthly payment

This was offered yesterday. Please advise.
