2017 Honda Pilot EXL AWD Sensing lease offer review

Hi Hackrs,

I have just been quoted a lease for 2017 Honda Pilot EXL AWD with Sensing. Here is the breakdown, from the dealer:

Lease options are for 36 mo/ 36,000 and 48 mo/ 48,000 miles.

For $0 down they have quoted 36 mos - $537 and 48 mos - $512. These values don’t seem to add up to the calculator.

This is for North Carolina.

MSRP: $39345.00
Sales Price: $35,659.00
Fees (tax, dealer charges, honda financial charges): $1512.00
Residual: $24393.90 (36 months) & $21246.30 (48 months)
Money Factor: .00200 (36 months) & .00225 (48 months)

Is it worthwhile? I want to make sure it is a good deal, can wait more.

Thanks you!

Terrible deal. Not even close to 1% rule.

Is the residual correct for a 2017 Pilot? Or is it due to Money Factor?

MF sucks! That’s why I did not look into the pilot.

You’re going to need to think hard about how bad you want a Pilot. As you’ve found and others have said, the lease prices are borderline atrocious. You could probably lease the highest trim Infinti QX60 for that price - and the QX60 would be extremely nice.

You are right, I was hoping for somewhere around $350 range. $500+ just isn’t worth for Pilot.

If you want a Pilot, buy it. Otherwise move along and don’t bother because it doesn’t lease well at all

You’re absolutely right!

I leased my 2016 QX60 (a few months ago) - Fully loaded every package on the book ( MSRP $60k) for around $545 / month - 10k, 39 months ( all inclusive , $0 drive off, $ 0 down).

If you want to lease a Pilot, the Credit Unions are the only lenders challenging the captive with strong RVs and low rates. They are beating the captive by $30-80 per month. If you live in NY, MA, OH, FL, PA, CO or IN pm me and I can steer you to a dealer.

People are quoting an MDX for the same price
