2017 Honda Civic Hatchback ST -- Am I Crazy?

Good to know. I’ve been looking into the Q50 actually but always turn away when I see the lower MPG. Since this would mostly be a commuter car sitting idly in traffic 9/10 times, higher MPGs are pretty important for me. Also would be worried about insurance premiums rising significantly because of the “luxury” label.

Having said that, I’ll likely go test drive one today and potentially have a change of heart! Thanks for the heads up!

Nice Edmunds was super easy and it ended up shooting over an MSRP $1000 lower than normal!

I filled out the Costco program, but i’m not sure how to use that to my advantage? I’m a costco member and all, but would these “special and pre-negotiated prices” be only effective for financing/buying?

Thanks for the tips!!!

BMW S3 is also on my list

Gotcha, a much better game plan than my original of just going in for a test drive + potential buy

Thanks!

Maybe it’s just me, but referral fee is minute compare to the convenience this services provide, especially for the lease newbie, but again just my opinion

I recently tried to negotiate a civic EX with a couple of Honda dealerships today and one quoted me 320/mo with taxes zero down @22600 sell price and the other quoted me 277/mo zero down @21600 sell price. I’m also only 22 years old so I think they thought they could sucker me in with those prices. Anybody here know what is considered an average deal on the civic ex?

That’s changed now - they use to charge $300 on new and $400 on used.

They now hit everyone for a flat $1,300 per month.

I worked a Ex-T MSRP $24,xxx to $260 per month @ 36/10k.

The programs on the EX might be bad - I haven’t done enough research to tell you.

How were you able to get it down that low? I asked for a quote for the ext and they told me like 347/mo. It seems like it’s a car that sells well so I’m having a hard time for them to come down on the price.

All cars sell well, if they didn’t, they would get discontinued for a new model.

You’ve already handicapped yourself with that mindset.

It was a brokered deal that fell apart - last month was brutal!

Payment also depends on your state.

Edit: Changed price to payment

@Benedetto is a broker. Just pay him a $199 fee and he will setup a deal for you. The savings will be recovered in 2 months.

+1 give it to @Benedetto

Why does it matter on the state as far as how big a discount a dealer will give off of MSRP?

Supply/demand/competition?

Tax … GA/VA/TX bump the price a ton.

But that wouldn’t come into play with the discount off of MSRP. Dealers don’t pay the sales tax, the customers do.

He was talking payment - I wasn’t talking sales price.

Here’s proof on that pricing

Before it gets said - they built a ton of garbage products into that deal.

That’s about 50% of why it fell apart.

would you be able to broker me a deal in Hawaii? I’m trying to get a civic lx manual or a corolla for under 200/mo sign and drive. Or maybe even an civic ex for around 225/mo

That’s still a pretty hefty discount off of MSRP. If you take off all the crap they are adding in ($1,809 extra) it’s still a discount of $2,682 off the MSRP of $23,175 or 11.5% discount. It seems their residual is 1 point below what it should be and the money factor should be .00080.

Anyway I’m looking at both the Civic EX-T and Civic Hatch EX. Have you noticed larger discounts on the Sedan over the hatch?
