So, I have been looking at a Scat Pack. Originally looking to buy it with a trade-in, but the dealer wouldn’t budge on a terrible low-ball offer on my trade.
So I want to look at lease deals. So far the best deal I found on a similar one (no discounts though) was $380/mo for a 36/10k annual lease.
I know that the residuals for a 36/10 and 36/12 should be 65% and 64% respectively.
With that knowledge, what kind of deal should I expect with the following info:
R/T Scat Pack
MSRP: $47,620
Employee Pricing + Dealer Discounts (before incentives): $41,300
Current Incentives for my area: $1,750
Final Price: 39,550
Zip: 43537
Tag/Title/Doc Fees: 331
Sales Tax: 7.25%
Using the lease hacker calculator with a $2k drive off, it says I should be at 319/mo at 10k miles or 332/mo at 12k miles.
This seems like an ok, but not great, rate to me. But, maybe I am off-base since leasing is still relatively new to me. With that info, what would be a good LeaseHackr deal? Feel free to ask any additional questions.
@CDJRElliott I know from reading the posts here that you usually have the info on this stuff, let me know what you think.
Well I think the deal with this particular dealer group (who will remain unnamed) is falling through. After recontacting them I have a bad taste in my mouth regarding their overall attitude. Basically laughed in my face when I showed them book values for my trade telling me good luck (and implying that I am stupid for expecting book value). Sad because the price of the car I wanted was where I wanted it.
Too bad because there arent that many available in my preferred color choices. Guess it was not meant to be this round.
It was a 14 Durango. Black Book put the avg (not clean, which I consider the car clean) trade in value at 28k. 28k was where I started. They could evem get remotely close to that number. I would have been happy in the 26s, but they they didn’t even come close to that.
Honestly this is not the first time this dealer group (multiple dealers in the same chain) tried to lowball me on a trade. I had an SRT Challenger 4 or 5 years back that I was looking to trade. They must have thought I was a sucker because they offered me 17k. I sold it a month later for almost 34000 (as a quick sale to a forum member on one ofthe enthusiast sites).
I understand they are in business to make money. But at some point it is just too much. At this point, this dealer group I will only deal with if I have no trades.
They offer very low 20s. 23 was the most. Pretty much wouldnt budge from there. Its an R/T AWD every option but tech package (adaptive cruise) and entertainment package. 53k miles when we were negotiating, 54.5k now. They even talked up the car that it was the cleanest trade they have seen. I keep my cars pretty meticulous.
Like I said, it was more the attitude that got me than the price. The salesperson didnt even try to come off as “on my side” or trying to help me out. Totally different from my experience with my go to salesman at yark. He always makes me feel like my time and opinion are important. It is just too bad they didnt have what I wanted and another dealer relatively nearby did.
That’s the closest one that has similar options. They have added what looks like a Curt Tow hitch, but otherwise they are pretty identical. Bit less miles than mine as well.
Actually the R/T is tow rated to 7200lbs. Has the same suspension and cooling system with or without tow package (that was a 900 dollar option back then IIRC). It was the only thing I couldnt get on mine without waiting and ordering.
