Just received this “deal” from local Audi dealer. I’ve kept my eye on this car for a bit and know it’s been sitting at their dealership for at least the past 2 months. Any idea what I should be pushing for?
$2500 down with an almost $900 payment…sheesh…
Are you taking a 5k hit on a trade in? Maybe its worth waiting or exploring other options on the vehicle you are trying to get rid of?
That seems unreasobly high…
Really bad. Looks like they are roughing you up on a trade in.
Yea, this deal is pretty comical - just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing something. This was over email & I might stop by tomorrow to get my vehicle appraised & see if we can get to a more realistic deal.
Ideally I would like to be sub-$500 with $1,500 max OOP. Given that the cars been sitting 2+ months and the 18s are on the lot you think they would be more aggressive.
Blacked out VIN, but left out dealer and stock number?
Yea, no clue why I did that… habit from work & blacking out SS info.
No, hide everything. No need for that info, unless you want to do all the work for someone who decides to steal it from you
Got it, thanks for the heads up!
Please put a useful title next time if you ever make another thread.
Your $4990 in negative equity is about $140/month. To reach your goal, you’re asking for another $14k+ discount. Doesn’t seem reasonable to me.
Do you know the current MF or incentives?
Not sure of the MF, asked the dealer for what he based this deal on.
Apparently I’m eligible for the Audi pull ahead program which will eat about $1,650 of the negative equity. There’s also a $1k loyalty incentive.
If you’ve been eyeing this car for 2 months, why didnt you lease it in December when Audi was giving away 2017s. Edmunds showed there was $4k extra lease cash, plus $2k conquest/loyalty and the season of Audi first month credit. Almost all of that is gone.
Also, keep in mind this car probably has a 50% residual or less. So they can discount the shit out of the car, but you’re still paying a ton of depreciation. You’ll never get an almost loaded 3.0 a6 at your price target. Maybe a lightly equipped 4cyl.
Mike, thank you for the insight. I held off in December due to a huge home remodel we were undertaking. Now that that’s almost finished & after receiving the dealer’s pull ahead Email I started looking again. I also have my mother in law that’s interested in a Q5 so I was trying to package the deals
How bad do you need a new car? Can you wait until the summer of Audi starts?
