2016 X3 x28i Demo/Loaners

HI All,

Wondering how many miles is too many on an ex demo/loaner that make you question or push for an aggressive discount? I’m looking at an X3 that has 14k miles on it and only about 14% off msrp? Should I be pushing for like 17% or 18%?

Thanks in advance!

I would say yes, but it also depends if you have been penalized for the milage that is already in the car (14k). Usually there is a penalty of .20c per mile above 500 miles. Can you share your details about the deal such as MSRP, Money factor, Price, (residual should be around 65%)?

yup, I guess penalty kills the deal if there is too many miles on the car. $2700 just for the penalty.

How does the mileage figure into the equation exactly in terms of the financials? How does the $2700 affect this example?

Thanks

I am about to close a deal on an X3 demo and I am getting about 23% off msrp after the milage penalty. I will post details later, but I can assure you that persistence pays. Originally the salesman gave me crazy numbers, so I decided to call directly to the General Manager and explain him that their numbers didn’t make sense and that the sales guy never explained how he got the numbers. So we worked out a deal. If not look elsewhere.
