How do i make sure i am not being taken advantage of on the net cap cost when i go to do paper work. I know some will ask for sales price, i think im getting around 10K off MSRP but don’t know the exact sales price yet as the communication is all over email. I dont know the MF or residual, but from what i understand its set by Volvo.
To the seasoned, please provide any advice which i should watch out for when i got to the dealership, and opine on the deal.
Do your homework first and be prepared before you go “to do paper work”. Request at least the basic numbers - the sale price, residual and acquisition fee (dealer may add extra $200-300). Volvo has $7,350 lease allowances on Inscription in CA, so the sale price is at around invoice before allowances if you get it at $10K off sticker. You may try to get an extra $1K off which will equal ~$30/mo less.
But it looks like a decent deal on a $45K car even without knowing all the numbers. Here is just a sample of how you can play with the numbers:
I don’t know all the numbers, but I think you are getting a great deal already. If you are happy with your monthly payments - take it. Not worth fighting for $5/mo (which is about extra $170 off), IMO. Dealer needs to make some money too. BTW: Inscription is made in China, but I like mine (dated Sensus is a drawback).
Yes - only S60 Inscription is made in China. And it’s the first Chinese-made car in the US. Others assembled in Belgium and Sweden. It’s too early to talk about Inscription’s reliability, but hey - it’s a lease anyway. Unless it starts falling apart, I’m OK with it. I did not notice any issues with interior/exterior quality, same old Volvo but with a really noticeable extra space in the back (3"). Sensus is the same on all Volvo’s except the new XC90 and S90 - they have the new Sensus.
OP: I believe you should be able to negotiate a few more K off the selling price. Aim for 34k CAP. The cross country is marginally more expensive than the Inscription (MSRP wise) and I was able to get 13k off MSRP
