'20 Mercedes GLA or Jaguar E-Pace

First time poster…here goes.

Wife’s GLA is up in August. Starting to explore a new lease. Have at least one, if not two options. One is a demo, but still need numbers.

She also likes the Jaguar E-Pace. Have a demo that looks pretty good.

The one GLA is pretty loaded, the other, the demo, is not.

Love to know your thoughts. Good news, the wife would be happy with any of them, and appreciates the best deal.

Also, will deals get any better as we get through this crisis? Reading up on this in the FAQ, it could be that since the quantity won’t be there and cars aren’t being produced, dealers will not be looking to cut deals, just to get quantity.

If your lease isn’t up til August, why are you shopping now?

In one of the cases, I was approached. So, I listened.

Don’t have to make a move, but we might. Since the last lease was a one-pay, if we stick with Mercedes, they will “pull forward” and refund the remainder of the amount left.

What are you basing these off of?

Edmunds forum…the 57.5% residual is down from 58% because of the miles.

AWD base MF for a '20 GLA in April is .00017. FWD .00016

None of these look compelling IMO so just wait.

Really…so do you think the deals will get better?

I’d take that chance, yes.

The Jaguar guys are back at me. Willing to come down on their numbers. Another $1500 off the vehicle.

Seems like a good deal. But, they have another model, exact same MSRP/options, only difference is interior color is ebony (the one above is light oyster) and they are listing that for $35,500?!?

Thoughts on this deal?

2020 GLA 250 FWD

MSRP - $40,670
Sales price - $32,077
Money factor - .0007
Acq fee - $1095
FL Dealer pre delivery fee - $995

Residual - 59%
36 months/7500 miles per year
$0 down, plus first month = $372

Is the total 36 x $372 including 7% tax?

Is the total 36 x $372 including 7% tax?

Yes, it is. All in number

You can do better try to lower

I got last week 2020 GLA250
Only paid $650 for tag and first payment
36/10
Monthly payments all in $340 taxes included in!!
In florida

Only movement I can see is in the money factor, where they are at .0007, instead of the base of .00016. FWIW, a one pay, is $12304, which is about $342/month

Just curious, though, since you brought it up…what was the MSRP on your vehicle and the sales price? Was the money factor base?

I think I saw your previous post and your docs. You MSRP was around $39k and sales price was just over $30k.

As I recall, you had $1300 down? Total payments was $13800, if I recall? Money down changes the numbers. The numbers above are $372 with just the first month. $340 with a grand, plus first month. Plus this has 3 years of maintenance built in.

Yes, money factor is elevated, it’s the only place I can see to haggle/wiggle.

Blindly comparing monthly payments doesn’t do any good

The only out of pocket money I put out was $650 and nothing else it’s first and tag.
And monthly payment is $340. All in thx
I didn’t got free maintenance
But got 3 free oil change only.

I understand…it all counts. On the deal sheet you posted, yes, of the “upfront money”, some of it was used to reduce the cap cost. Your deal is similar to one I posted. In both cases, the FL dealer(s) are doing their typical “pre-delivery fee” plus they won’t go to base MF in most cases, if they are steeply discounting the vehicle. It’s either one or the other.
