Volvo S60 2018 outgoing model opinions?

There is a huge price gap between a 43k a4 premium vs a 50k premium plus. Around 100 bucks! Read more carefully.

Q50 3.0T is a much better car than a 4 cylinder S60 (which is absolutely gutless), and was designed back in 2010 LOL! It is faster than a stock 6 cylinder S60 T6, and the T5 can’t even keep up with a base A4
If you want that car, then go get one))

Performance was not the comment. It was age of the design. Yes, Q50 can perform better (although only 0.2 secs faster in a straight line comparing 3.0T to T6). S60 is far more comfortable. I like both vehicles, and own neither, so I’m just being fair to both. Design is one thing, and purely aesthetic and meaningless. The platform under the S60 is a whole 5 years younger than that under the Q50. I find merits and demerits in both vehicles.

Yeah, that Q50 is light years better being designed in 2013, and has arguably the worst infotainment system in the industry.

It’s also built on the FM platform, which debuted in 2001. Yes, 17 years ago. The Q50 platform is the equivalent of the Ford Panther platform (Think Crown Vic) of JDM.

What is that? But I bet Q50 3.0T is faster, for sure.

2015 S60 T6 325hp. Infiniti runs mid 13s in quarter mile @103-104 stock. Simple jb4 reflash gets it into low 12s, and into 114-115mph range easily.

We are talking about T5. T6 is long gone. Yes the T6 polestar 3.0t was terrific!

It is NOT a 6 cylinder.

The 2015 T6 is a 6 cylinder. 325hp/354tq.

Is it?

Hm…lemme see. Sorry must have been 2014.

There was no 6 cylinder, only 5 max.

My fault. It was a 2014 then. With the polestar badge. But heck I know xc60 had 6 cylinder up till 2015.5. Were some great cars!!!

Honestly, I miss the 6 cylinder XC60 R-Designs alot. They were beasts!

@dmitry - the last 6-cylinder S60 was the 2015.5 T6 R-Design. The front wheel drive T6s were 4-cylinders with 302hp and were about as fast (the 8-speed automatic helped vs the 6-speed of the 5/6 cylinder versions), just not as smooth. The straight 6 is a great motor and I miss it in the Volvos, but higher priorities these days are fuel economy and a 4-cyl is the answer for a pure gas car.

The 2018 S60 T5 has 240hp, gets 25/36 mpg, and goes 0-60 in 6 seconds. Honestly- how many people driving a car like this are flooring their cars or concerned about 1/4 mile times? I’d say none.

The 2018 S60 T6 Polestar also has a 4-cyl 2.0L engine, but it makes 362hp, and goes 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. Volvo delivers performance when the want to- not as often as BMW or Mercedes, but they have the ability. Check out the Concept 1 if you want to see what’s coming at https://www.polestar.com/

I read it enough. You said “All three can be had in low-mid 400s, 0 DAS.” Please show me how an A4 with an MSRP 15.4% lower with 0 DAS drops to low-mid $400s from a $529 payment with $3,000 DAS.

Dude lives in a dream world here when it comes to pricing. He has a history of rediculous quotes/demands posted here in the forum. Don’t get sucked into his fairy tale…it’s a losing battle.

Yeah, I saw the landfill as well as the nonsense and irrelevant comparisons. Just couldn’t let the “Read more carefully” BS slide. I got the feeling he was an 18 year Troll.

Corrected that for you.
