First time lease negotiation for me and could sure use some help on how to proceed next/counter the dealers list price.

dealer is amenable to negotiate cap cost. I think it should be 2k less (I’d be happy with that)
-should the dealer move off list price first before I counter?
-car in NC and I live in Florida
-not sure what else I can negotiate
my folks have an old junker they’d like me to get rid of. It’s an 08 Nissan Altima (bluebook for around 2k but I’d take 1k) but no way I’m driving that thing up to nc. Any way I can use that as part of deal?
The dealer discount is too little.
